Clarion Collection Hotel Temperance

We spent two nights here at the end of May 2025. I can only write about the accommodation in superlatives. Anna at the reception is charming, kind, helpful, but the same can be said about all the staff. The hotel is in the best location in the city center, walking distance from the train station, the best restaurants, the park, and there is a well-equipped supermarket just across the corner. We were able to leave our bags in the luggage room before check-in, so we were free to walk around until the afternoon. After check-in we were greeted with a great fika, with coffee, tea and heavenly gluten-free (!) cinnamon rolls and brownies. Coffee, tea and water available all day. We booked the simplest room, as we did not plan to spend the day in the hotel, but we were still very satisfied, it was clean, comfortable, well-furnished, and there was enough space for us. (419) The breakfast and dinner were both wide selection and delicious, I think one of the best buffet breakfast I have had in a 4* hotel. English breakfast, as it should be, eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes, but there are cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, yogurts, juice, tea, coffee (they have plant based milk, too!) pancakes with all kinds of goodies, and you can even find sprouts! We got gluten-free bread every morning (we could choose what we wanted) and they even baked gluten-free pancakes for us! The allergen labeling at dinner is also great (the soup was gluten- and lactose-free both nights), as is the main course, you find side dishes, salads…

I wasn't expecting much, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. Great location, building with the history, cosiest common areas, very good room, the nicest staff, delicious food, reasonable price for the stay. Thank you for upgrading our room, it was really appreciated. It was very quiet, well ventilated, beautifully decorated. You could turn on heating of bathroom floor if needed. Future guests, pay attention to the amazing lobby with nice music and stylish lightning. The motto of the hotel is "Home until you're home" and that is so true! I wish I could stay more. The guests are taken good care of. Sauna is included and fika 3-5 p.m is a very nice touch. Brownies are amazing!

We loved the great location, right in the middle of the Old town which we wanted to explore. Lots of good restaurants around as well as a general store just outside the hotel. The breakfast and dinner were very good and had plenty of options to choose from, they even had fika available. The beds were comfy and the room quite spacious, with enough space for an extra bed (we had a Double Superior). A nice touch with the robes which were available in case you wanted to use their sauna.

My girlfriend and I had the most comfortable and cozy stay at the Clarion Temperance in Malmö. The atmosphere was relaxing from the get go: Although we were short for time when we arrived at the hotel, we got to enjoy the food without anyone rushing us. Both dinner and breakfast are amazing. The breakfast was definitely one of the best ones we've had in Sweden. Wide selection including chia pudding, varieties of milk (both plant-based and with diary) and fresh watermelon. We also appreciated the salads during dinner times: beans and feta, lentils and beetroot. The was never any shortage; everything was filled up right away, even when breakfast or dinner times were almost over. We enjoyed the sauna on two nights after it had been turned on specifically for us. We also used the gym, which comes with a treadmill and a cable tower, among other equipment. The staff was exceptionally friendly, always greeting us with a smile! To top this off, they were most welcoming even prior to our check out: On our journey back home, we had to stay in Malmö for another 8 hours. Because we loved the food, we decided to return for breakfast only after arriving at the central station very early. Although this was a week after out stay and we were not overnight guests at the hotel at that point anymore, we were immediately offered to leave our suitcases at the hotel and enjoy coffee and tee until the departure of our ferry. We were absolutely thrilled to stay here and look forward to coming back! (Which we will in December :))

I pretty much loved everything about my stay! Nice to have lovely Rituals shampoo/conditioner/shower gel provided, the staff was SO friendly and even let me check in early which was so appreciated, loved the chair and ottoman in the room with reading light to sit and relax in evening, and my absolute favorite was the quality of food and variety provided for both dinners and breakfast! I wasn’t sure what to expect as the reviews didn’t go into detail- so if you’re like me, this detailed account is for you! Breakfast had cold cuts, veggies, fruit, chia pudding, yogurt with all the fixings, bacon, sausage, eggs (scrambled & hard boiled), tons of fresh bread options, pancakes, juices, coffee, and even housemade ginger shots! Dinner had one main, and also soup (a corn chowder of sorts my first night, and italian veggie the second night), multiple salad options, more fresh bread, etc. They also had drinks available for purchase beyond the provided coffee, tea, and water. The location is also superb, for your convenience a grocery store is just across the road and it is not far from the central station. I’d highly recommend this place, so look no further, book it! :)
